3rd Quarter Submission

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-6miT8KVcE This is the latest draft of our Film. We changed a few scenes and my costume to make it more realistic. I put pants on and we filmed at night to give it more suspense.

Distribution Plan

Image
My plan to distribute our product is for the film to be shown in theaters. We would make movie posters, billboards, and commercials to get our film out there. I feel like these would be best for our movie because they have been proven to be successful in attracting audiences to the movie. For digital distribution, we would make our film available on streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu and others. These streaming sites get our movie out to millions of people, and they get to watch it in the comfort of their own home. Another benefit of using streaming services is people can watch our film wherever they want. They can download it and watch it on a plane, in the car or anywhere else they want to.

Revision #2 - Location Change

Image
New location Old Location We decided to change where we filmed the kidnapping scene. In our first draft, we filmed in almost the same spot the whole time. You could see where we filmed some scenes in the kidnapping scene. We also decided to wait until night to film because it gives it a more spooky feel. It also makes it look more realistic because nobody kidnaps people in broad daylight. We also added a POV shot to show what Samantha saw when she was being taken. This shots adds a sense of reality and makes the audience feel the fear that Samantha is feeling. I also popped out from the bushes to scare Samantha, in the first draft I was in the middle of the road, so the element of surprise wasn't there.

Revision #1 - Costume Change

Image
We decided to change our costumes to make the movie look more realistic. In our first draft, I was wearing shorts with a trench coat. The trench coat was to long to where you couldn't see my shorts, so it looked like I wasn't wearing any. I also was wearing Vans, and that did not go along with the rest of my costume. We decided to re-film the scene of me. I put on black pants and shoes, so I looked more professional and more like an actual mob boss would.

Distribution Research

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is using a poster to advertise their film. Posters are inexpensive to make, and they are very attention grabbing. The poster has many bright colors to attract people, and give it a happy and good feeling. While it may be cheap, it takes a lot of time to make and distribute it out to where ever they want to put them up. We could incorporate a poster into our film by designing one, and putting it up around town. We could put our Instagram username somewhere so people will visit our page and become interested in our film. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was first released in theaters, and is available On Demand.

Distribution Research

Image
Marvel Entertainment has an Instagram account to promote all of their films. For example, they are promoting the arrival of "Black Panther" to Disney+. They have 45.5 million followers, so with a easy and free post, they reach very many people. We could incorporate this into our film by posting a few things each day to promote our film. The Black Panther was first available to watch in theaters, but it was later released on Netflix, and is featured on TV sometimes.

The Irishman uses digital distribution to promote their film. Here, they use Instagram. Movie companies will use social media to advertise their film because it is free, it can reach a lot of people, and isn't hard to do. It is a very effective way to advertise. We could incorporate these methods into our product because its inexpensive, and easy to do. The Irishman was available to watch on Netflix only.
