Project Selection - My Decision

I have  chosen  to do the film project.  I made this decision because I feel  I will produce a better project with the film rather than  the magazine. It fits me best because  of my ability to work with other s and I have more interest in  filmmaking  than in journalism.  Also, we have had more exposure  to filmmaking and I feel I understand it better.   I have chosen to work in a group because  things will go smoother if  the work load is broken up.  Also,  more ideas will be contributed to make the film better .  The main genre of the film will be drama.  The people I have chosen to work with will benefit the project because  of  there  technological skills , and there patience and understanding of making a film.

Project Selection - Magazine

The aspect of  print jour nalism that interest me is taking notes and research ing.  Journalists  have  to do a lot to get information. Going  to different people and places to get  information  interests me because I can learn about both sides  of a story. In “The Newsroom” ,  Will McAvoy  and his team try to make the news credible again. They do this by  going to multiple sources for  information and  giving both sides of an argument.  Journalists must be care ful with their choice of words,  making sure their facts are correct, and making sure everything is on the record .  Because I am good at communicating with people ,  I will be able to get information easily. However,  I am not very outgoing. It will be hard for me to go up to people and talk to them.

Project Selection - Film

The aspects of film production are very appealing to me because  film making is fun.  You get the  opportunity  to  make  your ideas into  a reality, and you get  to  be with your friends.  You and your friends  get to put your ideas   on a screen and your acting, directing, and editing  complete it all.  A good example  would  be “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”.  Ferris was created  by the director, John Hughes.  John created a teen icon , who is love d by most people . He got to put his ideas into reality, and everyone had fun  making it.  The movie was originally  three hours long, but the  editor  and director cut the movie down . This interests me because  they made the movie  make sense without all the extra scenes.  My weakness in this area  would most likely  b e  acting. I feel it would be hard to be serious and do good takes while act...
