Captain John Miller takes his men behind enemy lines to find private Ryan, whose three brothers have been killed in combat. The Film opens up to an extreme close-up of someone who appears to be crying eyes. It fades to a close-up of captain Miller's face, then slowly moves to a wide shot of his men on a boat. They appear to be very nervous and some even throw up. It leaves the viewer in suspense as to what they are about to embark on. No Job titles are shown in the opening scene. Saving Private Ryan had a budget of 70 million and grossed 481.8 million dollars. The film won an academy award for best director, and a golden globe award for best motion picture.
